Alice Coltrane - Spacewoman

Though I grew up in a music loving home that revered John Coltrane, I was only vaguely aware that his wife, Alice Coltrane, was also a musician. 1994's Red Hot on Impulse was the album that awakened me to the cosmic beauty of Alice Coltrane's music with her Pharoah Saunders collaboration, "Journey Into Satchidananda". From there her work only got more interesting and more spiritual, particularly after I discovered meditation.
